Web Hints and Tips

Hints and Tips to Help You
Put Together Your Web Site

Why do we need you to become involved in the design process? Your web is a direct reflection of you and your company. It's similar to baking a cake without the flour -- its flat (without a little research on your end).

Some Things To Consider

  1. What is your Philosophy?
(or if personal, what is the purpose of your website?)

  2. What is your Mission Statement?

  3. A 30-40 Word Description of Your Company**
**Why is this important? - This becomes your Meta-Description. What the Meta-Description does for you is it helps the search engines find valuable information on your site. Most search engines use the Meta-Description tag as part of one component of their ranking formulas. The tags can increase your search engine rank and display important site information on the search results page.

  4. 15-20 Keywords and/or, catch phrases**
**Why is this important? - These become your Meta-Keywords. Think for a moment about who will use your services, then target them with words associated with you or your business. For example, people whose cats are about to have kittens will need kitten food, so you can include phrases like "cat pregnancy", "cat gestation" and "kitten weaning" to your list.

    Include a variety of keywords.
People will search for your site using all sorts of keywords. Making your site easy to find means including misspelled, capitalized and plural keywords. Always include the longer forms of keywords too. For example, use "domestication", "domestic" as well as "domesticated". The more specific we make your keywords, creates a better chance that people who find your site through search engines that will benefit from its content.

  5. Company Logo, Catch Phrases, Photos and Graphics you wish to use.
**These logos may include your manufacturers/vendors graphics if you have written permission to use that is verifiable.

  6. Address, Phone Number, Mail Box Address, Email Address, Contact Person

  7. What are your services or products you want represented on the web?
If a product, what form of payment?

  8. What type of demographics/target market are you trying to reach?

  9. Does your company have a list of accomplishments, awards or associations that you are a part of? Years of operation? (If personal - Do you wish to post awards or certificates, etc?)

We will scan clean logos, preferably a minimum graphic size of 2" by 2-1/2 inches - including the white space.

With photos, color is best, and not a scanned version.

We can design a logo or clean-up a logo you already have for an additional charge - which will be discussed with you before your project begins. (In an effort to provide all costs up front - please advise us, in advance, if logo design is requested -- Thank you!)
