The Galleries

       Every now and then I discover someone that is truly an exceptional artist. (Me, I just dabble in acrylics and watercolors).
I felt that I couldn't miss an opportunity to support those whom I find amazingly gifted.

       One of these people I met when I went to work at the Press-Telegram in 1993. Her name is Judith, and her artwork is very versatile. She works on everything from sculpture, watercolors, paper collages, glass mosaics and fabric painting. Her most recent passion is painting on gourds. It is very creative, Judith finds the irregular surfaces "tell" her what to paint and she tries to incorporate the skin color of the gourd into the art that she paints on it. To quote another Press-Telegram employee, Ms. Sherry K., "Most greyhound people are out of their gourds." Judith also has a stationery line and has made her own "paper" for greeting cards.        I have discovered another artist whose work I like, Kathy T., who is also a bit of a musician, as well as an artist. I have always felt people with one creative outlet often have more then one creative venue. Soon we will be able to show some of her work with descriptions from the artist.
